Eastridge Legal is seeking an IDS Specialist to provide support to fee earners in the IP patent prosecution practice, both individually and as part of a team. This is a temporary opportunity for six months with a great team in San Diego.

The selected individual will review the docketing database for all US and foreign patent and trademark prosecution matters for assigned clients; proactively determine the need to file Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) for assigned clients by interacting directly with partners, associates, patent agents, paralegal and legal administrative assistants assigned to those cases; prepare IDSs for those cases as directed by the partners or other responsible parties on the docket, prepare supporting documentation and upload to the patent office with the approval of the responsible attorney on the docket.

In addition, the IDS Specialist will work with the IDS Supervisor to report filings and to adjust and update all docket entries related to the assigned cases; participate in regular training sessions; assist with other legal research using standard legal research methodologies and tools as directed and bill and release time to all files in appropriate increments on a daily basis.

Required Skills
A high degree of proficiency in the firm’s computer applications and document management system, including but not limited to Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access), FileSite and IPDOS. Knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents and legal processes specific to the practice area and the ability to learn IP Manager, the firm’s docketing software.

Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and a paralegal certificate is preferred. Previous IP Patent Prosecution and Trademark experience working in a law firm or legal environment a plus.
