We are looking for an experienced Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities. You will be the face of the department, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high quality vision.

The ideal director is an influential manager with ability to lead and motivate. They must have great communication skills and take a holistic approach in managing the organization’s operations.


  • Responsible for the coaching and mentoring to include: performance reviews, staff development and creating an environment for success.
  • Provide oversight and regular review of electrical system specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and contracts.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, providing technical direction to engineers and designers in the execution of electrical scope of work on medium and large sized PV projects.
  • Ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures in a safe manner.
  • Prepare/review load lists, power system studies, single lines, equipment layouts, area classifications, sizing calculations, schematics, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions and technical bid analysis.
  • Perform routine and complex engineering, design, analysis or other technical tasks within the electrical discipline utilizing current technology, available standards, calculation software, templates and cataloged products.
  • Review contracts and summarize electrical system design requirements, develop electrical one line diagrams and perform electrical system studies using ETAP software.
  • Participate in major equipment selection and technical vetting.
  • Ability to Develop I&C Block and interconnection diagrams and Review I&C System specs and drawings.
  • Maintain positive relationships with outside consultants that integrate with the team.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience required and P.E. (Professional Engineer) required.
  • Demonstrated senior level experience with medium to large projects PV projects, knowledge of design is preferred. Strong technical understanding of solar power systems and solar inverter technologies.
  • Must have experience in and be able to estimate man-hours required for completion of work and successfully prioritize and assign work per schedule requirements. Engineer must have recent experience in verifying completeness and quality of work performed.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD (desired), MS Office and SCADA.
  • Experience on HV interaction with transmission owners/agencies for design and permitting.
  • Familiar with solar array construction techniques, installation practices and plant start-up requirements.
  • Knowledge of the ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC and other industry codes, specifications and standards.
  • Experience with management of projects in a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm a plus.
