Nationally renowned award-winning supply chain management company who provides material management solutions and sourcing to utility, manufacturers, and suppliers in the gas and electric industry for over 40-years.

Opportunity

Program Manager, Substation/Transmission will support utility client in San Diego by leading a team of 20+ by providing support for all materials management projects for electric transmission and substation construction and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

Manage projects from conception to completion with oversight responsibilities to project team members of 20+ managing transmission, substation, materials supply and distribution projects of over $50MM

Act as primary and single point of contact for Client

Provides immediate solutions to production issues to Client key decision makers

Relationship management with internal, external team, Client stakeholders, and Construction and Project Managers

Manages and coordinates all onsite activities with Scheduling and enforces compliance with subcontractor requirements

Implement all project construction execution plans

Monitors and reports on construction productivity and tends to key management team members

Leads internal and external meetings and weekly conference calls

Works closely with Management Teams to maintain and update on milestone completion dates in the project management system

Vendor and Supply Management

Plan overall program and monitor progress to make sure milestones are being met across various projects and programs

Manage program budget

Supports continuous improvement efforts and change management efforts associated with implementation of improvements

Preferred Skills

Bachelors degree preferred and Project Management certifications preferred

Minimum 7-years experience with Transmission and Substation and/or Gas management, Laydown Yard experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

10 years Management & Leadership skills of large teams of 20 or more

Purchasing, Procurement and Materials Management skills needed

Strong experience as Program Manager of large and complex projects
Broad knowledge of project and program management methodologies

Construction Supply & Materials Management experience

Open to Relocation candidates, but San Diego resident preferred
