Job Description


The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for retaining and growing existing customer accounts as well as targeting new business opportunities and any assigned business opportunities. The position is responsible for selling plumbing products and services to Commercial customers within a defined geographic service area. New business account generation will be accomplished via a combination of opportunistic prospecting and a targeted, strategic focus on accounts in select vertical markets. Existing account retention and growth will be accomplished via a strategic focus on key customers and account trends through a multiple contact strategy.


Position expectations and areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Generate new commercial leads and accounts: Identify, qualify and call on new commercial accounts via opportunistic prospecting and a strategic focus on select vertical markets. Utilize a multiple contact strategy (email, phone, site visit, social media, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Retain and grow existing customer accounts: Call on existing commercial accounts via a strategic account focus on customer trends. Utilize a multiple contact strategy (email, phone, site visit, social media, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • New commercial customers JaRay – Tech Sales
  • Top Revenue Accounts
  • Declining Revenue Accounts MOM/YOY
  • Dormant Accounts
  • Win Back Opportunities
  • Vertical Categories
  • Identify a minimum of 3 key vertical markets within defined geographic territory
  • Identify and contact the top 25 accounts in each vertical market
  • Become a subject matter expert in you selected vertical markets
  • Research vertical to understand key business drivers, trends and regulations
  • Identify and join professional organizations within each vertical as required
  • Identify vertical trade show opportunities in assigned geographic territory
  • Utilize available bid sites to find and respond to Bid/RFP opportunities within assigned geographic territory
  • Responsible for all aspects of client relationships and sales cycle including: prospecting, setting first appointments, proposal generation, price negotiation, pipeline management, sales to new, existing and assigned accounts, and ongoing account follow up
  • Utilize the company’s ZOHO CRM platform as instructed in the A.C.T.I.O.N. Sales Plan
  • Adhere to and comply with all elements of the A.C.T.I.O.N. Sales Plan
  • Meet all assigned activity and sales performance targets
  • Provide a copy of all proposals to the admin team for entry into JaRay ERP system
  • Adhere to and comply with all current company policies and procedures
  • Submit all orders and paperwork as required and in a timely fashion


  • Attend all company meetings, branch meetings and assigned conference calls as required
  • Attend trade shows and events as required
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Branch Manager, Admin Team and Techs
  • Collaborate with the Techs on new and existing commercial sales opportunities
  • Resolve customer complaints and inquiries


  • High School Diploma.
  • Some College preferred.


  • Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Ability to travel often
